I was awake all hours

I moved through my day

Holding a notion of myself

Wore a face I thought

Made me look like something

I had a dream about your pronouns

The rooftop full of wind

And a career I didn’t care for

A cavern opens up before me:

Forty-story condominium

Slowly ascending

With shops on the bottom

In the process of becoming itself
